During registration you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest. TrustPlus Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on www.trustplus.com and www.trustpl.us. TrustPlus Inc. collects personally-identifiable information from our users at several different points on our Web site. Orders If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally-identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. Build Your TrustCircle If you choose to use our TrustCircle service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. TrustPlus Inc. stores this information you provide to us for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at unsubscribe@trustplus.com to request that we remove this information from our database. Uses of Information TrustPlus™ uses your personally-identifying information to identify and contact you. TrustPlus uses various non-personally-identifying information about you in order to provide and optimize its reputation services. Communications from the Site Updates and Special Offers We will occasionally send you information on major updates and promotions. Out of respect for your privacy, each such communication includes the option not to receive these types of communications. Service-related Announcements We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account on the "My Account" section of the site, or contact us at support@trustplus.com. Customer Service Based upon the personally-identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you by email in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. Profile We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third party sources to create a "profile" of your preferences. We tie your personally-identifiable information, and your purchasing history, to information in the profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the site for you. We share your profile information with other third parties, but not your personally-identifiable information. Supplementation of Information In order to provide certain services to you, we may on occasion supplement the personal information you submitted to us with information from third party sources. Enhancement of Profile Information for Reputation Purposes We may purchase data from third parties and add it to our existing user database, to better analyze, contextualize, and focus reputation information. To enrich our Profiles of individual customers, we tie this information to the personally-identifiable information they have provided to us. Enhancement of Profile Information for Advertising Purposes We may purchase data from third parties and add it to our existing user database, to better target our advertising and to provide pertinent offers in which we think you would be interested. To enrich our Profiles of individual customers, we tie this information to the personally-identifiable information they have provided to us. INFORMATION SHARING & DISCLOSURE Non-Personally-Identifiable Information We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers. We share individual user Profile information with our marketing partners and advertisers. In neither case does this information identify individual users or link with personally-identifiable information. Personally-identifiable information We share personally-identifiable information with Third Parties as outlined below. Agents We use credit card processing companies to bill you for services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes. Service Providers We may use other third parties to provide us with various services (e.g., web traffic tracking and analysis). When you sign up for TrustPlus, we would share information only as necessary for the third party to provide that service. In the unlikely event that such a third party required personally-identifiable information in order to provide us its services, the third party would be prohibited from using that personally-identifiable information for any other purpose. Legal Disclaimer We reserve the right to disclose your personally-identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site CHOICE/OPT-OUT We provide you the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having your personally-identifiable information used for certain purposes, generally, when we ask for this information. If you no longer wish to receive our updates or promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each such communication or by emailing us at unsubscribe@trustplus.com. You will be notified if/when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider so that you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party. SITE MONITORING Log Files As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data ("Log Data"). We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track user movement around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We link this automatically-collected data to personally-identifiable information in order to improve our service and marketing. We may use a third-party tracking service that uses cookies, log files, beacons, bugs, and other similar tracking tools to track Log Data, which may be or may be considered personally-identifiable information about visitors to our site. Cookies A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser's "help" file. We set a persistent cookie to store your login name and password, so you don't have to enter it repeatedly. Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Session cookies are used to save session data as you move about and utilize the Service (for example, the history of whose reputation you have recently explored). If you reject cookies, your access to many areas of our site will be limited. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) may use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. See "Third Party Advertisers." This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by this site only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs) We and/or our third party advertising partner(s) may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our users' personally-identifiable information. You can access and review the privacy and opt-out policies of any of our third party advertising partners on our Web site in the Legal section. We may use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see "Choice and Opt-out." THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISERS The ads appearing on this Web site are delivered to users by our third-party advertising partners. We share site usage information, non-personally-identifiable aggregate user Profile information, and non-personally-identifiable individual user Profile information with one or more reputable third parties for the purpose of targeting the advertisements on this site. Our third-party advertising partners use cookies and clear GIFs on this site, which allow them to recognize a user's cookie when a user visits this site. The information these advertisers collect and share through this technology is not personally-identifiable. You can access and review the privacy and opt-out policies of any of our third party advertising partners on our Web site in the Legal section. SECURITY The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information on our site (e.g., login, registration, order processing) we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. BUSINESS TRANSITIONS In the event TrustPlus Inc. goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally-identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via email and prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page.
